Major Offense (Art Major, Lemoyne Svendsen) won the $8,000 Open harness racing pace at Cal Expo on Sunday (Jan. 14).
Major Offense, at odds of 17-1, went for the early lead. From the outside, Dancin Lance (James Kennedy) moved to take the lead. Handsome Harvey (Luke Plano) was racing in third as they came to the first quarter mile in :27.4. Dancin Lance was holding on to the lead by a little over a length, with Major Offense following in the pocket in second as they passed the half mile in :57.2.
From the outside, Ragged But Right (Nick Roland) moved to take second, leaving Major Offense in third as they came to the three-quarter mile in 1:27.1. Major Offense crossed the wire first in 1:55 b, followed by Dancin Lance.
In a photo finish, Heavens Gona Rock (Jacob Cutting) got third.
