Majorca N (Art Major) won back to back in the Mares Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night.
In the last six harness racing starts that Majorca N and Incaseyoudidntknow faced one another each won three races.
Majorca N wasted no time asserting herself. Driver Corey Callahan sent her down the road. Elektra A, the invader from the Meadowlands, left from post six and retreated to the pocket, Incaseyoudidntknow settled 3rd along the pylons racing to quarter pole. Majorca N was breathing fire and led the field to an opening quarter in 26.2, then cruised to the half in 55.3, and a pedestrian 29.1 quarter. Incaseyoudidntknow vacated her position along the pylons and brushed up the backstretch.
The two rivals Majorca N and 3/5 betting favorite Incaseyoudidntknow, met one another at the three quarters in 1:23.2, a 27.4 quarter. Elektra A watched all the action from pocket position. Incaseyoudidntknow sustained a broken hobble and went off stride at the top of the stretch. That misfortune enabled Elektra A and Majorca N to battle in the lane. Majorca N prevailed winning by a half length in 1:51 and paid $5.00 for the win.
Elektra A finished 2nd. Melody Hanover was 3rd.
