On a cold and windy night, Majorca N (Art Major) finally sealed the deal and won the Mares Open Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night.
Majorca N was launched from post seven at the start of the harness racing contest by driver Corey Callahan. She led the field thru an opening quarter in 27.2.
The 2/5 betting favorite Elektra A grabbed the pocket ride.
Majorca N continued on an uncontested lead and reached the half in 55.4 (28.2).
Last week’s winner, Disturbed Hanover, braved a 1st over trip up the backstretch. Factory Girl followed 2nd over and Lofty Treasure was carried into a 3rd over trip on the rim. However those bids failed. Majorca N backed off the third quarter in 1:24.4 (29).
Elektra A, who defeated Majorica N earlier in the year, revved up the engines along the pylons but her bid fell short. Elektra A finished 2nd and Factory Girl was 3rd.
