On a cold and windy night, Majorca N (Art Major) finally sealed the deal and won the Mares Open Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night.

Majorca N was launched from post seven at the start of the harness racing contest by driver Corey Callahan.  She led the field thru an opening quarter in 27.2.

The 2/5 betting favorite Elektra A grabbed the pocket ride.

Majorca N continued on an uncontested lead and reached the half in 55.4 (28.2).

Last week’s winner, Disturbed Hanover, braved a 1st over trip up the backstretch. Factory Girl followed 2nd over and Lofty Treasure was carried into a 3rd over trip on the rim.  However those bids failed.  Majorca N backed off the third quarter in 1:24.4 (29).

Elektra A, who defeated Majorica N earlier in the year, revved up the engines along the pylons but her bid fell short. Elektra A finished 2nd and Factory Girl was 3rd.

MAJORCA N REPLAY

Majorca N won by a measured length in 1:53.2 and paid $7.40 for the victory.  She is owned by Michael Casalino Jr from NJ and Dylan Davis Racing from Delaware.  Dylan Davis trained and Corey Callahan drove.

There is a $2,111 Pentacecta carryover to tomorrow night’s 14th race.

Tomorrow’s 10th race feature is the $27,500 Blue Hen Handicap Pace. Itsrockandroll A seeks back to back race wins.

Bally’s Dover races Monday thru Thursday with a 4:30 pm post time.
