Man Dontforget Me took an early lead for the first time in five months in the Yonkers Raceway harness racing feature pace on Wednesday, and the strategy change paid off for the mare as she was never headed.
She rocketed to the front into the first turn for Jason Bartlett, and her seven foes allowed her an uncontested :28 first quarter mile and :57.1 half. Man Dontforget Me then kicked away to a two-length as Larjon Leah (George Brennan) applied first-over pressure going to three-quarters in 1:25.1
Man Dontforget Me allowed minimal gains by her opponents in the stretch as she paced to the finish in 1:53. Wakemeshakeme (Pat Lachance) chipped away at the winnerās lead but was a length and a half short in second. Somebeachsomefra (Joe Bongiorno) was third. The winner paid $6.70.
