Harness racing driver Eric Davis and Marco Beach (Somebeachsomewhere) used a different tactic this week, a harder one at that, but still found the win in the $12,000 Open I for pacers at Rosecroft Raceway Thursday (Oct. 19) night in 1:51.1.
Leaving from post six, Davis was parked as DoubleornothingĀ N set the early pace through a half mile, but as the leader faltered badly down the backside, Marco Beach went by him like a jet funny car and rolled to a three length win for trainer Alexandra Goldin and owner Antionette Bencivenne.
It was the second straight Open win for Marco Beach who wired the field a week ago.
It was one of two wins for Davis who scored with Katie Callahan’s R U Machin Me, at 22-1. Callahan had a conditioning double and now has 13 to lead the Rosecroft Fall Meet.
