A yearling half-sister to Hambletonian winner Market Share from the first crop of Helpisontheway grabbed top honors when Greg Luther signed the ticket for $50,000 at the Blooded Horse Sale Tuesday Aug 24.
One of the sportās more prominent owners, Luther was pleased to get the filly that will be trained by his brother Todd. Consigned by Ruddick Stables as agent, Stacey Ruddick complimented the summer sale venue saying,
āThis filly was sold in an early sale becauseĀ the owner had two fillies they wanted entered in the same sale.Ā Having a yearling sale in late November is just too late, so this was a much better fit.Ā The staff at the Blooded Horse Sale have alwaysĀ been pleasant and accommodating, so we were happyĀ to offer her in their summer yearling auction.Ā Every year, the quality here gets better and better, attracting more buyers.Ā It takes place in a good location and in a good spot on the calendar.ā
Other yearlings of note were Marsea Beaucoup, a Downbytheseaside colt out of the Artsplace mare Mary Artman, p, 3,1:53 ($125,000) that was purchased by Burke Racing Stable LLC for $33,000 from the Spring Haven Farm, agt consignment. They were also the agent for Lifetime, a Royalty For Life colt purchased by Reuben Troyer, Jr of Ohio for $18,000.
Ā The racehorse category was led by the solid conditioned trotter Bank Guard at $40,000. The six-year-old son of Break The Bank was purchased by Gray Thunder Stables of New York from the Tim Betts consignment.
Another trotter that created a lot of buzz was Castyourcrown, consigned by Tye Loy. The competitive Ohio stakes placed three-year-old son of Dontyouforgetit was purchased by Blake Daniels of Ohio.
Ā Burke Racing Stable always brings a nice consignment and this one featured the fancy Ohio stakes eligible three-year-old pacing fillies Pinknperfect by Well Said and Winella Hanover by Racing Hill.
Bidding was spirited as both were out of very strong families with obvious broodmare value. In the end, Daniel Schrock got Pinknperfect for $32,000 and Tim Troyer got Winella Hanover for $28,000. The Burke consignment also included the promising Captaintreacherous gelding, The Big Picture, that went to Bill and Leah Rhoades of PA for $26,000.
