Match My Miracle (Jimmy Whittemore) and Samsun Of A Beach (Leon Bailey) capture the $5,500 co-features at Vernon Downs on Friday (June 27).
Match My Miracle ($4,60) takes the featured trot.
Match My Miracle fired right out of the gate and led to the quarter in :28.0. He slowed things way down using a :31.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :59.0. He started to open things up going around the final turn cruising to three-quarters in 1:28.3.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher Jesmach Onyx and third place finisher Ladyyouaregorgeous (Leon Bailey) went all out but could not get close to Match My Miracle. He won easily in 1:57.3.
MATCH MY MIRACLE REPLAY
Match My Miracle is a 9-year-old gelding by Imagistic. He is trained by Margaret Spagnola for owners Our Blue Streak Stable, and David Spagnola. It was his second win this season. He now has 26 career victories.
Samsun Of A Beach ($4.80) wins the featured pace.
Samsun Of A Beach went to the front and led to the quarter in :26.3. Bay City (Shawn Gray) took over the lead as they reached the backstretch. O’er The Ramparts (Jimmy Whittemore) took over command and was first to the half in :56.0. He maintained control and led to three-quarters in 1:24.3.
As they made the turn for home Samsun Of A Beach made his move going first-over. Second place finisher O’er The Ramparts and Samsun Of A Beach battled all the way down the stretch. Samsun Of A Beach made a late surge to get the win in 1:52.4. Northern Rein (Joe Nasimos) finished third.
Samsun Of A Beach is a 6-year-old gelding by Sunshine Beach. He is owned by Chris and trainer Dale Lawton. It was his second win this season. He now has 13 career victories.
