Harness Analyst – Meadowlands 2nd December

Stakes season is mostly wrapped up, but there is still plenty of harness racing as we head towards winter.

The Meadowlands has a competitive 14-race card tonight that features healthy carryovers in the 20-cent Pick 8 (starting in race 4) and the 20-cent Pick 6 (starting in race 8). Here is my full-card analysis and some suggested multi-race tickets for tonight’s card. Good luck with your punting.

BEST BET – SPRINGSTEEN – Race 13

SPOT PLAY – I’M TALKIN HUNGRY – Race 3

20-Cent Pick 5 (20% takeout) – Race 1 – 46/679/124/25/9 = $7.20

20-Cent Pick 8 (With $10,566 carryover) – Race 4 – 137/12457/3489/29/4/18/26/9 = $96

50-Cent Pick 4 – (15% takeout, $50K guaranteed pool) – Race 6 – 137/12457/38/29 = $30

20-Cent Pick 6 – (With $37,839 carryover) – Race 8 – 159/9/137/12457/3489/29 = $72

50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 10 – (15% takeout, $50K guaranteed pool) – 3489/29/4/18910 = $16

Race 1 – 6-4-5-10

(6) FLASHY DUDE seems to win wherever he goes, and he should offer some value shipping in from Freehold. I’ll take a stab with him to kick off the card.

Race 2 – 7-6-9-10

This race has the look of one that is going to set up for a closer and (7) SEE YOU FRIDAY is the one I see rolling past some winded leaders late.

Race 3 – 4-2-1-8

(4) I’M TALKIN HUNGRY comes off a good first up effort after missing three weeks between starts and he gets top billing here.

Race 4 – 1-5-9-7

This race starts the Pick 8 that has a carryover of $10,566. (1) BB LUCKY BOY will be the one to catch and he has a good chance to wire these.

Race 5 – 9-1-2-5

(9) SUGAR ME IN is clearly fastest of these, and he will be a single for me.

Race 6 – 7-1-3-2

(7) RACINE BELL and (1) BEACH COWGIRL both face easier here. Nod goes to the former who raced much more recently.

Race 7 – 7-1-2-4

This looks like a wide-open race. I’ll take a price stab with (7) MR IBIZA N on the class drop, but use several others.

Race 8 – 3-8-4-9

This race kicks off the 20-cent Pick 6 that starts out with a carryover of $37,839. There are several in here capable of winning. I’ll give a slight nod to class dropper (3) TOCCOA FALLS but use three others on the multi-race tickets.

Race 9 – 2-9-4-8

I would single (2) ADMIRAL HILL here if not for the stale date. I think you also have to take a close look at (9) DRAGONONTHEBEACH who raced well in defeat to the classy Nandolo N last time.

Race 10 – 4-6-1-7

(4) MY PAL JOE jogged last time he raced this low. You have to find a single somewhere and I’ll take a stand with him making his fourth start back and facing considerably easier.

Race 11 – 1-8-10-9

Tough race here. I’ll side with (1) REVOLVER N who comes off a tough trip and gets class relief here.

Race 12 – 6-2-1-4

(6) ROCKIN ON VENUS gets needed class relief here and he should be tough to beat vs. this group.

Race 13 – 9-4-1-7

(9) SPRINGSTEEN rates highly here on the class drop and he could lead these all the way; top call.

Race 14 – 2-8-5-1

(2) BARRIER is hard to love with a 1 for 44 record, but he made two moves in defeat in his most recent start and he gets a key driver change to Dave Miller here. I’ll stab with him hoping for a square price based on his record.
