New series at Big M, qualifiers next week

East Rutherford, NJ – The Meadowlands is announcing the addition of a Late Closing series for 3-year-olds of all gaits and sex in the spring of 2023. The new harness racing series will be designed to provide starts over the mile track for green horses.

“Trainers have asked for a series where they can race their green horses over The Meadowlands mile track. The young horses need starts and we have a very difficult time filling overnight races for those classes, so we’ll try doing it this way,” said General Manager Jason Settlemoir. Further details will be released as they become available.

In anticipation of the start of the upcoming Fall/Winter meet on Friday, November 4, The Meadowlands will race qualifiers on the morning of Thursday, October 27.

The box will close at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26.
