PRESENTING SPONSOR NAMED FOR ADIOS

The Mickey Burke Family has been announced as the presenting sponsor of this year’s Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids.  The family wanted to honor the memory of the late Burke patriarch, Mickey Sr., who passed away in May of 2024 at the age of 87.  The Adios had special meaning to Burke Sr., a longtime Meadows-based harness racing trainer, who attended the first Adios and every subsequent one until his passing.  The race was at the top of his list of races to win during his career, and he earned that first win in style, not only capturing the Adios in 2007 with May June Character, but training the top-3 finishers across the wire.

CALLING ALL ADIOS SUPPLEMENTAL ENTRIES

Horse owners are reminded that supplemental entries to the Grade 1 Adios are accepted.  The cost is $35,000 and it is due with the declaration to start.  The entry box for Adios eliminations will close at 9:00am this Wednesday, July 16, for this Saturday’s eliminations.  For additional information, contact The Meadows’ Race Office.

ARDEN DOWNS STAKES THIS SATURDAY

For the first time, one of the Arden Downs Stakes series will be contested on Adios Elimination day.  This Saturday’s card will feature the Roy Davis Arden Downs 2YO Colt Pace, which often is a preview of next year’s Adios.  Posts will be drawn on Wednesday for the Grand Circuit freshman stake.

ADIOS PICK-6 TO BE OFFERED

Last week, The Meadows announced the addition of a Pick-6 wager on Adios Day, that will include the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids as one of the legs.  In partnership with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering program and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, the wager will now have a $10,000 guaranteed pool.  The 50-cent base wager will have a takeout rate of 15%.

REGULAR RACING SCHEDULE THIS WEEK

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will race its regular 4-card per week schedule this week.  Action will take place on Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45pm.  Friday’s card will begin at 5:10pm, while Saturday’s races will start at 12:45pm.
