THREE GUARANTEED POOLS WEDNESDAY

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will offer a pair of guaranteed pools this coming Wednesday, January 21.  The day will start with a $20,000 guaranteed pool in the Early Pick4, which starts in Race 1.  The final Pick4 of the afternoon on Saturday was not hit, resulting in a carryover of more than $5k, which will now be advanced to the $20,000 guarantee. In addition to the daily $5,000 Guarantee on the Late Pick4 (Races 10-13), there will also be a $5,000 guarantee on the Pick5, which starts in Race 9.

JUDGE/HORSEMEN MEETING SET FOR TOMORROW

Just a reminder…Presiding Judge Scott Egger has scheduled a meeting with horsemen for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20 at 2PM Eastern time to go over general commission updates, rules and as a question & answer session.  Those that cannot attend in person will be able to join via phone.  The number for the dial-in meeting is 724-301-4632, with the passcode 590 595 932#.

PALONE OFF TO FAST START            

Dave Palone has the hot hand among Meadows drivers to start the 2026 season.  With 26 wins in 71 starts, he is visiting the winners circle in more than 36% of his drives, and has a driver rating of .501.  Ronnie Wrenn Jr (13), Aaron Merriman (11), Jeremy Indof (9) and Brady Brown (8) round out the top-five in wins through the first two weeks of the season.

PRESTO LEADS TRAINERS IN ‘26

Brandon Presto has the early lead among trainers at The Meadows in 2026 with 13 victories in just 36 starts and a .503 trainer rating.  Ron Burke and Dirk Simpson are tied for second with 11 wins, while Amy Husted and Brady Jenson each have five victories.  Husted’s five wins come from just 15 starts since arriving from Illinois, and she has a trainer rating of .511 through two weeks of action.

THE MEADOWS QUALIFIERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAY

Due to anticipated cold temperatures on Tuesday, qualifying races at The Meadows have been moved to Wednesday, January 21 at 11:30am.
