QUALIFIERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAY

Qualifying races at The Meadows have been moved to Wednesday (February 4) at 11:30am, prior to the parimutuel card which begins at 12:45.

BACK TO THREE DAYS FOR FEBRUARY

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will return to its usual 3-day-per-week schedule for the month of February, with racing on Wednesday through Friday afternoons at 12:45pm.  13 races are carded for this Wednesday.

BEATING THE BOYS

Last week, several races featured a lone mare racing against stallions and geldings, and the mares showed the boys how to win.  On Thursday, in a $6,000 claiming pace, Speaking Of Coffee, a 9YO daughter of Artspeak, was a winner in 1:56.3 for trainer Dean Glispie and driver Ronnie Wrenn, Jr.  In the very next race, claiming trotter Fred’s Dream Girl (Team Six), driven by Justin Irvine for trainer Cory Kreiser, defeated 8 males in 1:57.2.  On Friday, L Dees Maria, a 6YO mare by Cantab Hall, bested a field of male trotters in a $6,900 conditioned trot, winning in 1:57.4 for trainer Justin Pirillo and driver Jeremy Indof.  Saturday’s third race saw Alwaysanun (Always a Virgin) and Justin Irvine win for trainer Brandon Presto in a claiming handicap race in 1:54.4.

SPRING SERIES ENTRIES DUE SOON

The annual Spring Early and Late Closer Series at The Meadows are coming up soon, and we are less than 2 weeks away from the deadline for entering the first four events.  February 15 will be the deadline to enter the Wilbur Zendt Memorial Pace, the Boots & Donna Dunn Memorial Pace, the Corwyn Greene Memorial Trot and the Joe & Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot.  The events are for 3- and 4-year-old trotters and pacers, Pennsylvania Sired or PA-owned, that are non-winners of 2 Extended PM races or $25,000 lifetime up to and including January 15, 2026.  Winners over $40,000 lifetime are not eligible.   For additional information regarding entries, contact The Meadows’ Race Office at 724-229-6964.

If you would like additional information at any point, please reach out to track announcer Jeff Zidek (jeff.zidek@pennentertainment.com).
