THREE DAYS OF RACING THIS MONTH

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will is currently in its winter 3-day-per-week schedule, with racing on Wednesday through Friday afternoons at 12:45pm.  13 races are carded for this Wednesday.  The $5,000 guaranteed pool on the Late Pick4 is offered daily.

PRESTO IN TOP SPOT

Brandon Presto currently has the lead among all trainers at The Meadows with 25 wins in 90 starts through the first week of February.  Ron Burke is second with 23 wins, while Dirk Simpson (19), Brady Jenson (16) and Justin Pirillo (12) complete the top five.  A smaller stable off to a fast start is that of conditioner Doug Snyder.  The veteran has sent 10 starters out from his barn with 4 wins and a UTRS trainer rating of .456 so far this season.

VALENTINE’S, PRESIDENTS’ DAY SPECIALS

On-track patrons at The Meadows this Friday will have a chance to make it a lucky Friday the 13th, as the day before Valentine’s Day.  Programs stamped with a heart symbol will win a special three-part wagering coupon.  On Monday, February 16, on-track fans coming in for simulcast wagering will have a chance to Spin and Win a President in our cash giveaway.

LAST CALL FOR FIRST ROUND OF SERIES RACES

The annual Spring Early and Late Closer Series at The Meadows are coming up soon, and the deadline for entering the first four events is February 15. The first four events are for 3- and 4-year-old trotters and pacers, Pennsylvania Sired or PA-owned, that are non-winners of 2 Extended PM races or $25,000 lifetime up to and including January 15.  Winners over $40,000 lifetime are not eligible.   For additional information regarding entries, contact The Meadows’ Race Office at 724-229-6964.

QUALIFIERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAYS THROUGH FEBRUARY

Qualifying races at The Meadows have been moved to Wednesdays at 11:30am, prior to the parimutuel card which begins at 12:45, through the remainder of February.  As always, qualifiers can be watched live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page, and are archived at youtube.com/themsoa.
