MEADOWS-PENN PICK 4 LIGHTS UP TOTE BOARD

The Meadows and its sister harness racing track in Grantville, Pennsylvania, Penn National Race Course, hosted their first cross-breed Pick4 this past Friday (Jul. 14) night, and the results made some bettors quite happy. The payoff for the winning combination was more than $3,100 for a 50-cent ticket.

Featuring a low 12% takeout, the wager consists of two races from each track, starting with the first race from Penn National, followed by Race 4 at The Meadows.  The third leg is Penn National’s second race, while The Meadows’ 5th race concludes the wager.

The Pick4 begins at 6PM, which is first post at PNRC.  The Meadows’ post time on Fridays is 5:10PM.  The cross-breed wager will continue through August.

The Meadows will draw tomorrow (Jul. 18) for our portion of this week’s Meadows-Penn Pick4.

ADIOS ENTRANTS SOON TO BE KNOWN

The draw will take place this Wednesday for the eliminations of this year’s Delvin Miller Adios Pace.  The entry box closes at 9AM and the draw will take place later that morning.  This year will mark the 57th edition of the track’s top event.

FRESHMEN IN THE SPOTLIGHT

While the Adios for three-year-olds is the main event on the racing calendar the next few weeks, plenty of two-year-olds will have their opportunity to shine.  Arden Downs Grand Circuit stakes for freshmen will also be featured on the Adios Week cards, but the action has already started for the young horses.  This past Saturday, the Brian Brown-trained Special Menu put in a special performance in the first Pop Up Series final of the summer.  The Stay Hungry colt, driven by Dave Palone for Hutchison Harness, LLC, went wire to wire in a blistering 1:51.1, with a 55.1 final half.

More freshmen will be featured this week, as the Pop Up Series Finals will take place on Thursday for colt and filly trotters.  Saturday’s card will feature 2YO colt pacers in Pennsylvania Sire Stake and Stallion Series action.

If you would like additional information at any point, please reach out to track announcer Jeff Zidek (jeff.zidek@pennentertainment.com).
