FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
The Meadows will race three cards this week, Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45 and Friday evening at 5:10.Ā The special post time on Friday will be for our annual Pink Out event, hosted in conjunction with the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association.Ā Several events will be held to benefit the American Cancer Society.
FULL FIELDS
Thursdayās card will feature 13 races with very full fields.Ā Twelve of the 13 races on the card will feature 9-horse fields, with one lone 8-horse field.
TROTTER CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
Benjamin Hanover, a three-year-old gelding by Sebastian K, is on a hot streak in recent weeks.Ā After not racing at age 2, the Sarah Andrews trainee got off to a slow start this season, showing some early breaking issues.Ā After winning at Northfield on July 31 in 1:56.3, he made a break in his next Ohio start.Ā He then moved to The Meadows, and has now reeled off four consecutive wins.Ā Not only has he won, he has dominated the competition.Ā He won by 10 Ā½ lengths on August 31, followed by back-to-back 6-length wins. Last Thursday, he set a new lifetime mark, winning in 1:53.3 for driver Aaron Merriman, opening up by 15 lengths at the wire.Ā He moves up in class this week, and will compete in Wednesdayās third race for owners Andrews, Angela Cornell and Jarod Miller.
