CHARITIES BENEFIT FROM HANDICAPPING CHALLENGE

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows hosted a handicapping challenge for charity this past Friday, with 9 public harness racing handicappers competing to earn money for their favorite charities.  Derick Giwner of the Daily Racing Form took first place, earning a donation of $1,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.  Mike Pribozie of NAHUPicks.com finished second, picking up $500 for the Irish Joe Hanney Fund.  Bri Mott, representing StableDuel.com, was third, getting $300 for the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, and Gabe Prewitt and his #SendItIn Army finished fourth, earning $200 for the Tioga Downs Fire Relief Fund.

SLIGHT CHANGE TO DRAW SCHEDULE

The Meadows Race Office advises horsemen of a change to its regular draw schedule this week.  The card for Wednesday, December 6 will close the box later than usual.  The box will close this coming Saturday, December 2 at 4:00PM.  Scratch time will be Monday, December 2 at 10:00AM.

VETERAN TROTTER CHALLENGES OPEN FIELD

Chin Chin Hall, a 7-year-old son of Cash Hall with more than $800,000 in lifetime earnings, will be moving up in class into the Open level at The Meadows this Wednesday afternoon.  The horse made his 2023 debut on November 17, going wire-to-wire for owner Steve Oldford in 1:53.3 in an upper-level conditioned trot.  It was Chin Chin Hall’s first start for his new connections, and his first official start since April of 2022.  He raced only 4 times in all of 2022, when he was in the Nifty Norman Stable.

RACING THIS WEEK

The Meadows will be in its regular fall/winter schedule for the remainder of the calendar year, racing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons at 12:45.

If you would like additional information at any point, please reach out to track announcer Jeff Zidek (jeff.zidek@pennentertainment.com).
