3-MINUTE SURVEY PARTICIPANTS NEEDED

The harness racing team at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows invites racing fans to take a quick survey, which is mostly made up of yes/no questions, and will only take a few minutes.  Click here to participate.

UPDATES NEEDED FOR RACE OFFICE

The Meadows’ Race Office reminds horsemen that updated 2024 Coggins, Health Certificate, rabies vaccination and EVH vaccination paperwork must be turned in by the end of January.

STARTER ALLOWANCE RACES COMING SOON

A popular race condition from last year, the Starter Allowance, will be carded at The Meadows starting the week of January 24.  Multiple races will take place for horses that have appeared in various claiming levels in recent starts.

WRENN, PALONE OFF TO FAST STARTS

Last season’s top drivers in wins and UDRS have gone right to the top of the standings to start 2024.  Ronnie Wrenn (16 wins, .426 UDRS rating) and Dave Palone (13, .368) lead the way.  Both have won more than 25% of their drives.  Moving into the top-5 for the first time is a new face, Chris Lems.  The South Dakota-native is tied for fourth in wins (6) and in number of drives (54).

BURKE LEADS TRAINING STANDINGS

Mickey Burke, Jr is the top trainer at The Meadows to start 2024, with 10 wins in 35 starts.  Brandon Presto, who finished third in wins in 2023, is second with 7 wins, while Dirk Simpson, #2 last year, is in third with 5 victories.
