HARNESS RACING UNDER THE LIGHTS – TWICE

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will be racing under the lights twice this week, thanks to a one-time schedule change.  Racing will take place, as usual, on Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45pm.  The regular 5:10pm post for Friday evening will remain in place, but we will race on Saturday evening at 5:10pm as well, starting our card near the end of the Hambletonian Day program at New Jersey’s Meadowlands.

DAPPER AGAIN

For several years at The Meadows, Dapper Dude was one of the track’s top older pacers, competing at the top Open level for multiple seasons.  A career winner of nearly $1.4 million, Dapper Dude was retired to stud and currently stands in Maryland.  On Wednesday, when a group of 2-year-old filly pacers come onto the track for the post parade, Dappergine will become the first daughter of Dapper Dude to make an appearance at The Meadows.  The filly, out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Aubergine Hanover, has drawn post 8 in Wednesday’s 6th race.  She is owned by the Micki Rae Stables and trained by Tim Twaddle, the same connections that raced Dapper Dude at the time of his retirement.

THANK YOU FROM THE MEADOWS RACING TEAM

The racing team at The Meadows would like to thank all horse owners, trainers, drivers and racing fans for their support of Adios Week.  The Saturday Adios card produced the third highest Adios handle in the past 15 years, at more than $1.25 million.

If you would like additional information at any point, please reach out to track announcer Jeff Zidek (jeff.zidek@pennentertainment.com).
