Meadows Monday Memo

THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY HARNESS RACING THIS WEEK

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows is racing Thursday through Saturday this week, as cold weather resulted in the schedule being pushed back by 24 hours.  In cooperation with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, The Meadows will offer a $5,000 guarantee on the Late Pick4 pool every day through the end of January.

FULL SISTERS FACE OFF

Aerogem and Wildandfree have taken very different routes to get to The Meadows, but the siblings were recently reunited.  They are full sisters, sired by What The Hill, out of the Credit Winner mare Credit Report.  Wildandfree, the older sister, is 6 years old and trained by Lester Mullet. After missing nearly a year following a stint racing in Michigan, the horse joined the Mullet Stable last spring.  Aerogem, 5, was recently sent to The Meadows to the Ed McNeight, Jr. Stable by owner Daniel Hale.  Hale is the breeder of both mares. This past Friday, the sisters stood side-by-side in the paddock, drawing posts 1 and 2 in a conditioned trot.  They sat third and fourth throughout the mile and finished in those positions, with Aerogem getting the best of her older sister by a length at the wire.

SPRING SERIES ANNOUNCED

The Meadows’ Race Office has announced that nominations are now being accepted for its annual Spring Series events.  The first four events, which will be for three- and four-year-old pacers and trotters, will accept nominations through February 15.  Eligibility is limited to horses that are NW2 extended parimutuel races or $25,000 lifetime up to and including January 1, 2025.  Winners over $40,000 lifetime as of January 1 are not eligible.  The series will begin during the first week of March.  For additional information, contact the Race Office at 724-225-9897

If you would like additional information at any point, please reach out to track announcer Jeff Zidek (jeff.zidek@pennentertainment.com).
