SERIES HORSES PREPPING FOR RETURN
With the first four series events of the harness racing season coming up in early March, a large group of horses is prepping for the “unofficial start to stake season” with qualifiers this week. Six qualifying races will be held on Tuesday morning, including 14 three-year-olds making their season debut. In all, 44 horses are entered in the qualifiers. The qualifiers can be viewed live at 11am Tuesday on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page and archived at youtube.com/themsoa.
MYERS OFF TO FAST START
Driver Hunter Myers is off to the best start of his Meadows driving career so far in 2025. Myers finished 2024 with 192 local wins in 1375 starts, winning 14% of his drives. This season, he already has 50 wins through the first 7 weeks of the season, and is winning at a 19.9% rate. His driver rating is .335, up 74 points from his .261 mark in 2024.
PALONE RETURNS TO THE TOP
Dave Palone has moved back to the top of the driver standings at The Meadows after two strong weeks of racing. He now has 60 wins on the year, six ahead of both Aaron Merriman and Ronnie Wrenn, who are tied with 54.
REGULAR RACING SCHEDULE THIS WEEK
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows continues its usual winter schedule of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday racing this week, post time 12:45pm each day. In cooperation with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, The Meadows will offer a $5,000 guarantee on the Late Pick4 pool each day.
