4-DAY RACING
The Meadows has now moved into its Spring schedule, with racing four days per week. Saturday harness racing racing has been added starting this week (April 5). The track will race Wednesday through Saturday this week and next week. After the April 12 card, there will be a planned one-week hiatus for track maintenance before racing resumes on April 23.
SERIES BEGIN THIS WEEK
The second round of Spring Series, the final prelude to the start of the local stake racing season, will begin this week at The Meadows. Wednesday’s card will feature a single division of the Ruby Cook Memorial Series, for 3YO filly pacers. Skepticism, fresh off a victory in NW2 company last week, headlines the field for trainer Doug Snyder and driver Lucas Myers. It will be Race 1 on the Wednesday card.
UNLIMITED GAITS
Unlimited Love, a 4-year-old mare out of the Dirk Simpson Stable, has become harness racing’s latest double-gaited performer. After racing last season as a trotter, the daughter of International Moni made her return to action in a qualifier on March 4 as a pacer. She has now made three official starts on the pace, with her best effort a 1:57.2 on March 13.
WRENN, PRESTO LEAD THE WAY
As we move into April, Ronnie Wrenn Jr is in first place among drivers at The Meadows in wins, leading Dave Palone by a 94-85 margin. Brandon Presto remains in first among trainers, with 44 wins, six more than Ron Burke.
