Sevenshotsobourbon (Tom Merton) takes the $11,000 featured trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 28).

Sevenshotsobourbon

Full Scale (Tyler Miller) had the early lead, but Sevenshotsobourbon took over just before hitting the quarter first in :27.2.  He slowed things with a :30.0 second quarter to lead to the half in :57.2.  Third place finisher Andover Contessa (Kyle DiBenedetto) came first-up to challenge heading down the backstretch.  Sevenshotsobourbon was first to three-quarters in 1:25.3.

Sevenshotsobourbon held off the late challenge of runner-up Woolco (Aaron Byron) to win in 1:55.2.

Sevenshotsobourbon is a 7-year-old gelding by Chapter Seven.  He is owned by Lee Clarke and trained by Vern Smith.  It was his second win this season.  He now has 23 career victories.

SEVENSHOTBOURBON REPLAY

Mike Merton had a driving grand slam.  He was first with Java, Lion On Landon, Believer, and Enola.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (June 29) with a post time of 1 p.m.
