Hoosier Park, Northfield Park, Butler (PA) Fair cancel due to air quality

ANDERSON, Ind.— June 28, 2023—Out of an abundance of caution due to the air index quality, which has shown no improvement throughout the day, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has cancelled the live racing card for Wednesday, June 28.

Northfield, OH--Out of an abundance of caution due to the declining air quality, MGM Northfield Park has cancelled their live harness racing program for Wednesday (June 28).

Qualifiers for Thursday (June 29) will go on as scheduled. Live racing will resume on Saturday (July 1) at 6:00 p.m.

PROSPECT, PA – Racing at the Big Butler Fair in Pennsylvania on Wednesday (June 28) afternoon has had to be cancelled. While weather cancellations are not unusual along the fair circuit, this group of two-year-olds lost their racing opportunity because of safety concerns about the air quality in west central Pennsylvania.

The situation for Thursday’s card for three-year-olds is being closely monitored, and early prospects look better for racing tomorrow. Notification will be made if the Thursday card also has to be cancelled.
