MGM Northfield Park hosts Ohio Fairs Consolations October 21

Northfield, OH –- MGM Northfield Park is proud to host the Ohio County Fair Consolations on Saturday, October 21. The draw for the Ohio Fairs Consolation will take place on Tuesday, October 17, the box will close at 9 a.m.

The Ohio County Fair Consolations are open to all harness racing horses that were paid into the Ohio Fair Finals in 2023 and must have made at least one start in an Ohio Fair Stake in 2023.

Horses that raced in the Ohio Sires Stakes Finals (Scarlet or Gray division) or the Ohio Fair Finals are not eligible for the Fair Consolations.

There will be no entry fee for the Fair Consolations, and they will feature a $17,500 purse for each of the eight divisions.  A second division of the Consolation will be raced for a purse of $12,500, if there are enough entries to fill, at the discretion of the Director of Racing.

The top nine eligible point earners in each division that enter will make the consolation, no more than two entries per owner or trainer will be allowed.  Horses must have a clean line within 45 days of the event by Northfield Park’s qualifying standards.
