CROSWELL, Mich. — The first week of the Michigan fair harness racing circuit is in the books after the Croswell Fair hosted the opening events of the Michigan-Sired Colt Stakes Blue and Green divisions, worth over $200,000 combined.

Blue Division – Tuesday, June 17

Believeincaptain took the overall speed badge of the meet with a 2:04 win in a $7,800 event for 2-year-old male pacers. Kody Massey drove the Captainvictorious-Believeincarrie colt to his debut victory for trainer Allen Sisco and the partnership of Oldford Racing and Allen Sisco Stable.

LeWayne Miller led all drivers with a hat trick, teaming two of his own trainees — 2-year-old pacing filly Lady Victorious (2:08.2) and 3-year-old trotting filly Westwinds Pegasus (2:05.2) — as well as the Mervin Schmucker-trained 3-year-old pacing gelding Uallgonnamakemeloo (2:06).

In addition to Miller, Tim Roach and Kevin St. Charles scored training doubles on the 12-race card.

Green Division – Monday, June 23

After inclement weather forced its postponement from Wednesday (June 18), the 12-race Green Division card took place Monday evening.

Chuck Taylor scored a training and driving double, winning with 2-year-old pacing gelding One Last Pair (2:11.2) and 3-year-old pacing gelding Man Of Time (2:07). Taylor completed a driving hat trick with 2-year-old pacing colt Buddywontletyadown (2:13) for trainer Ed Brown.

Driver Brad Kramer and trainer Kelly Goodwin teamed up for a double, partnering with 2-year-old trotting gelding Crosscheck (2:21) and 2-year-old pacing filly Supertonic (2:09.4).

The Michigan fair circuit shifts to the Tuscola County Fairgrounds, in Caro, Mich., for an 11-race Blue Division card on Thursday (June 26). First post is slated for 4 p.m.
