Miki And Minnie, Louprint top two in Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll

Newly crowned Pennsylvania Sire Stakes harness racing champions Miki And Minnie (Always B Miki) and Louprint (Sweet Lou) found themselves No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the Week 13 edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Wednesday.

Miki And Minnie, who won the PASS title for 3-year-old female pacers, has been No. 1 for six consecutive weeks. Louprint, who won the PASS for sophomore male pacers, was No. 1 for the seven weeks prior. He moved from fourth to second in this week’s poll after winning his second straight start since being sidelined for several weeks.

The remaining three horses in this week’s top five – Yo Tillie, Sylvia Hanover and Super Chapter – also posted victories last week.

Yo Tillie won the New Jersey Classic for 3-year-old female trotters, Sylvia Hanover won the Open for fillies and mares at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and Super Chapter won the fourth leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series for 3-year-old male trotters.

Sylvia Hanover and No. 6 Twin B Joe Fresh, who won a qualifier in 1:51 at The Meadowlands, will meet Saturday in the Grade 2 Milton Stakes at Mohawk.

The only other horse in the Top 10 that raced last week was Prince Hal Hanover, who was second to Louprint in the PASS championship.

There were no newcomers to the Top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will continue weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season, does not determine year-end awards. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year, and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
