LEBANON, OH – A total of 89 sophomore Ohio-sired harness racing colts went postward in ten divisions of Buckeye Stallion Series action at Miami Valley on Friday (April 30). There were seven divisions for pacers and three for trotters, each carrying a purse of $17,500.
King’s Cruiser started things off with a 1:53.2 triumph in the first race of the day, which ended up being the quickest mile on the program. Tyler Smith was in the sulky for trainer Jeff Nisonger as the son of Yankee Cruiser returned a $4 win mutual.

Casecon captured the second split in 1:53.3, the first of four wins for driver Brett Miller in Buckeye Super Stakes action. Virgil Morgan Jr. conditions the son of Pet Rock who paid $13.80 to win.

Other winning pacers were Smooth Racer (Ronnie Wrenn Jr., 1:56.3, Calvin Hollar, $13.80), Rockin Airway (Miller, 1:55.4, Ryan Miller, $2.80), Sleeping Single (Dan Noble, 1:54.3, Chris Beaver, $15.40), Odds On Shaggy (Miller, 1:54.3, Morgan Jr., $6.60 and Cyclone Union Jack (Miller, 1:53.3, Michael Prickett, ($23.20).
Fastest of the trio of trots went to Dontforgetlittleman for Dan Noble and trainer Deb Swartz. His 1:58.1 mile as the favorite rewarded his backers with a $2.60 payoff. The other two winners were Ilikedecupcakes (trainer-driver Sandy Beatty, 1:59.1, $28.60) and Credit Ace (Chris Page, 1:59.3, Ron Burke, $4.80).
The fillies will contest the first leg of their Buckeye Stallion Series on Saturday, in addition to a pair of Open Paces for region’s best older pacers on the special Kentucky Derby Day program. Post time is 12:00 noon.
