WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 16, 2023 — Harness racing millionaire Marloe Hanover (Captaintreacherous) was all-out to do it, but she held off the late charge of Blue Ivy to capture Thursday’s $21,200 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
While Marloe Hanover blitzed the opening panel in 26, Blue Ivy was stuck outside before the break of Sweet And Feisty allowed her to slip into the pocket. They raced that way until mid-stretch when Blue Ivy began to nibble into the lead. She fell a nose short, and Marloe Hanover prevailed for Dave Palone in 1:50.4. C Is For Cookie rallied for show.
Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains Marloe Hanover, a 6-year-old mare who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $1,028,857, for Let It Ride Stables, JL Benson Stables and Bottom Line Racing LLC.
Palone collected five wins on the 13-race card while Chris Lems and trainers Scott Betts and Ron Burke each enjoyed a triple.
MARLOE HANOVER REPLAY
