HARRINGTON, DE – Mst Racing and Elizabeth Murphy’s Monarch (Guccio, $4, Montrell Teague) notched his first career Open-level win Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with a 1:56 win in the $20,000 Open Trot.
In the field of seven, Spee Club and Secret Jet left quickest from the gate with Secret Jet emerging with the lead near the opening quarter in 28 seconds. Monarch brushed promptly to the front at the half-mile in 58 seconds and led the field to three-quarters in 1:26.3. Monarch was full of trot in the stretch and drew away from Secret Jet for his 8th win of the year. Remarkable De Vie gained late to get third.

Trained by Clyde Francis, it was the 10th career win for the 4-year-old gelding, who has earned $137,215 in his career.
Corey Callahan had 3 wins on the card. Art Stafford Jr. and Tony Morgan each had a double.
