Plainville, MA — When Drew Monti finished fourth in the third race at Plainridge Park with Star Speaker on Monday (Nov. 25) afternoon, he surpassed the $20 million mark for lifetime earnings over his 12-year harness racing career.
The numbers that helped him achieve that milestone were 17,318 starts that yielded 2,571 wins, 2,448 seconds and 2,297 thirds, pushing him to the $20,000,600 total he currently has.
Monti is experiencing the best year he’s had in the sulky since 2021, after doing double duty between Plainridge and Batavia Downs this season. Monti is currently showing 1,567 starts with 227 wins, 228 seconds and 191 thirds with $2,132,276 in the bank for 2024.
At the current Plainridge meet, Monti sits eighth among the driving colony with 44 wins and those have helped earn his connections $679,029 in purses as a result. Monti is currently the leading dash driver at Batavia Downs with 111 victories, which have him up by 17 wins and put him in position to win his third driving title with only days left in the meet there.
In the six years Monti has been driving at Plainridge Park, he has amassed 454 wins and $5,490,648 in purses.
