HARRINGTON, DE – Two former track driving champs now in their 60’s, Tony Morgan and Ross Wolfenden, combined for 9 harness racing wins on the Harrington Raceway program Monday (Sept. 11).
Wolfenden, 60, won with his first three drives on the card, including both halves of the daily double with Somewhere Rockin (Rockin Image, $5.40) and I’m Some Graduate (Somebeachsomewhere, $7.80) before earning a triple in the 4th race with Flying Wingard (Badlands Hanover, $16.40). Wolfenden picked up a 4th win in the 8th race with Cntnobdytelmenothn (Southwind Lynx, $21.20).
Wolfenden is currently fifth in the driver standings, as defending champ Allan Davis maintains a comfortable advantage over Tony Morgan, who won the Bally’s Dover 2022-23 meet and had 5 wins on the card.
Morgan, 65, is still winning races regularly and won the $20,000 Open feature aboard Mark Howard’s On The Cards (Bettor`s Delight, $6.80), who was an easy 1:53 wire-to-wire winner from post 7 for trainer Will Reynolds over Outclassed and Sprocket.
Morgan, who has over 17,000 wins in his career, also guided Intimidation (Captaintreacherous, $11.20), More Than You Know (Heston Blue Chip, $5.60), Westender (Downbytheseaside, $3.20) and Moscow Mitch (Downbytheseaside, $6) to victories.
Victor Kirby had a driving double.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until October 18.
