Racy Roxy A (Mr Feelgood) continued a strong stretch in local Opens for harness racing driver Jay Randall at Saratoga Casino Hotel when on Monday afternoon, the Rob Harmon-trained distaffer prevailed in the Fillies and Mares Open.

Racy Roxy A returned from a months’ long stint at Plainridge Park where she enjoyed success with Randall in the sulky. In Monday’s $15,000 feature, the six year old drew post four in what wound up being a six-horse Open and Randall was content taking Racy Roxy A back early to race from off the pace.
With fast first-half fractions of 27.3 and 56 seconds being posted, the Harmon trainee sat patiently in lap one before making her move approaching the three-quarter pole. From there, she and the race’s favorite P L Princess C (Aaron Byron) came charging up from the back of the pack and Racy Roxy A surged past her rivals in the stretch before drawing out to prevail by a length in a mile clocked in 1:53.4.
Racy Roxy A paid $10.80 in a mild upset in what was her seventh win of the 2024 season and her fourth in the local ladies’ Open this year. Mike Casalino Jr. owns Racy Roxy A to give the owner his second Open victory in a three-day span at the Spa after his Slip The Hundy N prevailed in Saturday evening’s featured race at the Spa.
RACY ROXY A REPLAY
Randall piloted Slip The Hundy N to the pacer’s third Open score in just over a month’s time and also guided By The Book to back-to-back Open Trot wins this month.
Live racing continues on Tuesday afternoon at Saratoga with a 12pm start to the matinee.
