Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) muscled his way to victory and captured the Open Handicap harness racing trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Jan. 2).
That Ole Bar Stool rocketed to the top and grabbed the early lead, trotting the opening quarter in 27.3. The 9/5 betting favorite, Muscle Dynasty, left from post 8 but was parked for 3/8ths of a mile. That Ole Bar Stool stubbornly surrendered the lead to Muscle Dynasty, who led the field of quality trotters to the half in 57.
Black Hope, who lost his cover when Muscle Dynasty cleared, was forced to race 1st over down the backstretch. Fifty Ways shadowed 2nd over and I Get It raced 3rd over on the rim. Muscle Dynasty and Black Hope dueled to the three quarters in 1:25.4.
In the stretch, That Ole Bar Stool danced along the pylons and Black Hope continued to pressure the leader Muscle Dynasty in a flash photo to the wire. Muscle Dynasty held on to win by a nose in 1:55.2 and paid $5.80 for the win.
He is owned by Frank E. Chick of Harrington Delaware. Walter Callahan trained. Walter’s cousin Corey Callahan drove.
That Ole Bar Stool trotted along the pylons and finished 2nd by a nose. Block Hope was 3rd by a head.
