Monticello, NY— My Sweet Mi Mi (Muscle Massive, Kyle Dibenedetto) won the $6,500 harness racing Open trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 21).
Southwind Larado (Thomas Merton) took the early lead, followed by Hot Summer Knight (Gregory Merton). From the outside, Skrill (Jim Taggart Jr) rushed to the front to capture the lead as they approached the first quarter mile in :29.2. Skrill led the way by a length over Southwind Larado. Hot Summer Knight followed in third as they came to the half mile in 1:00.
From the outside, My Sweet Mi Mi was first-over and looking to challenge Southwind Larado for second. They went past the three-quarter mile marker in 1:29.2.
As they turned for home, Skrill was holding on to the lead, with My Sweet Mi Mi closing in from second. Skrill made a break right at the wire, leaving My Sweet Mi Mi to take the victory in 2:00.1. Skrill got second and Patrick Hanover (Michael Merton) finished in third.

My Sweet Mi Mi is a 5-year-old mare owned by Howard Jacobs and trained by Robin Di Benedetto. She paid $13.20 to win.
Michael Merton, Kyle Dibenedetto, and Bruce Aldrich Jr got driving doubles. Laura Aldrich got a training double.
