Monticello, NY— The 3-5 favorite Nancy Bar (Bar Hopping, Michael Merton) won the $6,500 harness racing Open trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 22).
Nancy Bar took the early lead out of the gate, followed by Raceace (Alan Schwartz). Lady’s Image (Jim Devaux) was racing in third as they reached the first quarter mile in :28.3.
As they came by the stands for the first time, Nancy Bar had the lead by a length over Raceace, who was sitting in the pocket spot in second. They passed the half mile in :59. Nancy Bar reached the three-quarter mile first in 1:28.2, with Woodside Emileah (Jim Taggart Jr) moving from the outside to challenge Raceace for second.
Nancy Bar crossed the wire in 1:58.2, four lengths ahead of Raceace. In a tight finish, Woodside Emileah came in third.

Nancy Bar is a 5-year-old mare trained by Rob Harmon and owned by Mrs. Stephanie Olsen. She paid $3.30 to win.
