Lexington, KY – Nov. 21, 2022 – New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is currently organizing its 25th Annual Stallion Auction to be held via OnGait.com Feb 7-9, 2023.

The Standardbred Transition Alliance approved charity offers retired harness racing Standardbred racehorses and broodmares a safety-net through rehabilitation, retraining, and placement in carefully screened and monitored homes.

New Vocations embraces racing and the excitement and joy of racehorse ownership. At the conclusion of a horse’s racing career, New Vocations stands ready to assist with its aftercare needs. “We rehabilitate the horses, break them to ride and care for them until a qualified adopter can be found,” said Executive Director Dot Morgan. “Then we educate the adopters on the characteristics of racehorses, answer myriads of questions, encourage them through problems and offer training guidelines. New Vocations adoptees can be returned at any time, for any reason throughout their life.”

The stallion auction is New Vocations’ biggest Standardbred fundraiser of the year and a perfect opportunity for stallion owners to show their support of aftercare. Generating dollars is the ultimate goal, so if you don’t have a breeding to donate, please consider a year-end contribution.

New Vocations is a 501 (c) 3 charity; donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. To donate a breeding, please email dot@horseadoption.com or call (937) 205-4667. Monetary donations can be made through the website here or sent to New Vocations, 719 Dolan Lane, Lexington KY 40511. To maximize advertising, breedings need to be received by January 1; however, breedings will be accepted right up until the auction and throughout the spring.

About New Vocations: Founded in 1992, New Vocations has grown into the largest racehorse adoption charity in the country. Through its mission to rehabilitate, retrain and rehome retired racehorses, New Vocations has placed more than 8,000 Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds in experienced, loving homes and serves over 400 retirees each year. With facilities in Kentucky, Florida, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Louisiana, New Vocations works directly with racing owners and trainers in need of aftercare options and adopters seeking horses for pleasure, sport and companions.
