New York’s top 3YO pacing filly ready for NYSS battle

Monticello, NY (August 2 , 2024) – The reigning queen and top point earner of the harness racing division, Peace Talks (American Ideal), has drawn the rail in the first heat of NYSS worth $58,000 for 3 Year Old Pacing Fillies at Monticello Raceway on Monday, August 5.

The filly has scored Sire Stakes wins at Tioga Downs and Buffalo and has banked $152,105 this season. Jason Bartlett will drive the American Ideal filly for trainer Chris Ryder.  Unraced at 2 Stepabovetherest (PP3- B. Boyd) took her lifetime mark of 1:49.4 in Sire Stakes competition at Vernon Downs earlier this year and is 3-1.

Tarrific (Huntsville, PP 3) has been installed the early morning line favorite in the second division worth $59,200, Jason Bartlett will drive the filly for trainer Chris Ryder who has won 2 NYSS this season at Tioga and Vernon Downs. Camerican (PP6 – Jordan Stratton) has been the model of consistency all season with 3 wins in 7 starts. A Few Choice Words (Courtly Choice) has drawn the 7 hole and is looking to extend her 3 race wins streak, Jordan Stratton will drive the sophomore for trainer Blake Macintosh.

Also on the card are 3 heats of the $20,000 Excelsior Stakes, Lady Saturn (PP 3 – M. Kakaley) and Tempville (PP2 – T. Buter) will square off in race 1. Lady Saturn is the top point earner and has 8 wins on the year and has amassed $73,500 in earning thus far.
