Niki Hill (Always B Miki), the Dan Patch 2021 two-year-old pacing filly of the year, was injured when competing in a $68,116 division of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for harness racing three-year-old pacing fillies at Harrah’s Philadelphia this past Sunday (May 29).

According to her trainer, Chris Ryder, Niki Hill broke stride and nearly fell to the racetrack on the last turn in the race. Driver Dexter Dunn had to pull her up, but she was still able to finish the race in last place.
“She hurt her front right ankle,” Ryder said. “She cut herself and needed some stitches. She will not be out that long.
“Of course, we are disappointed in what happened,” Ryder said. “But she is a tough filly, and she will get over it. She’ll be back.”
