Maintains the top spot off a second in his first charted line of the year. Pelling: āHeās doing tremendous, but Iāve decided that I am not qualifying him this week. I looked at the schedule and there arenāt a lot of racing opportunities [for 3-year-olds], so Iāll qualify him next week. I have confidence leading up [to The Pace] that weāll find a place to race.ā

Finished fourth in the wake of what was the fastest mile of the year in the sport. A record set by Primary Colors that stood for about 20 minutes. Alagna: āThe times [of the races that night] were relative to the conditions. The horse was driven properly. [At this point in the season] Iād rather be a fast-closing fourth than a tired third. You are pointing forward. Iād like to go to the North America Cup with two or three starts. These days, these horses go so fast. Theyāre like Thoroughbreds, they donāt need the work they used to. He wasnāt going to get in at The Meadowlands, so weāll go against older Sunday at Chester.ā

Won the Saturday night opener at The āHawk without a problem. Moore: āIt was a good training mile for him, basically, thatās [1:51.2] all he had to go, but it would have been nice to have a bit more competition. Our next race is the [June 4] Somebeachsomewhere, then the North America Cup. Did well taking a non-winners of 5 at Philly. Alagna: āHe was excellent. It wasnāt ideal, but I took him down to Chester. When Iām pointing for a race on a big track, I try to go on a big track.ā Racing at Philly is easier, however. āI think anything you can leave in the tank will help in the long haul.ā Scheduled to race next at Chester on June 1 against older.
