Lucky Artist A (Artistic Fella) needed no luck, just plenty of staying power as she was able to wire the harness racing field in capturing the $33,000 F&M Open Handicap Pace Friday, November 18 at Yonkers Raceway.
The 8th race feature saw Lucky Artist A and driver Braxten Boyd go right to the front from post two and led the field to the opening quarter mile in :27.3.
With Uptown Hanover (Matt Kakaley) following in the pocket-seat, Lucky Artist A cut the mile to the half mile marker in :57.1 with the rest of the field in single file. Then it was Uptown Hanover flushed first-up by race favorite Classicist (Jordan Stratton) by the three-quarters in 1:24.3.
At the top of the stretch Lucky Artist A still held the field at bay, giving up a little ground in the stretch, but hanging tough to the wire to win by a half a length in 1:53. Uptown Hanover was second with Mcmarkle Sparkle (George Brennan) third.
LUCKY ARTIST A REPLAY
It was the fifth win of the year for Lucky Artist A. She is trained by Ricky Bucci for Flatland Racing of NY. She paid $9.60 to win.
