The 3rd race feature saw race favorite Art Scaping (Jeremy Smith) the first one on the lead off the starting gate, except for Artatac A, who left from post eight for Noble. By the opening quarter mile in a super-fast :25.4, Noble backed off and put Artatic A in the two-hole, content to allow Art Scaping to cut the mile.
Art Scaping led the field to the half mile in :53.3 which flushed Rollinlikethunder (Trace Tetrick) first-over and Later Dudes (Chris Page) second-over.
Down the backstretch, Art Scaping stayed in command with Rollinlikethunder challenging first-over in second place past the three-quarters in 1:21.1.
As they started down the stretch, Artatic A and Noble saw Art Scaping beginning to bear out and they ducked in along the pylons and came on to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:50. Art Scaping took second place by a nose over Stars Align A (Trevor Smith).
ARTATIC A REPLAY
It was the fourth win on the season for Artatic A. The seven-year-old gelding is trained by Christi Noble for owners James Morris and Norman Rae Racing. He paid $10.60 to win.
