Charlottetown, PE – The nomination deadline for Gold Cup horses is Monday August 7th at 3pm Atlantic time for the 64th running of the $100,000 Gold Cup & Saucer presented by Atlantic Lottery. Harness racing trainers can enter their horses through the Red Shores race office by calling 902.629.6634.
The official draw for the Gold Cup & Saucer trials on Saturday August 12th and Monday August 14th will take place live in the Red Shores grandstand Tuesday August 8th at 11:30am.
Old Home week racing begins on Thursday August 10th followed by Friday August 11th Post times are 7pm. Saturday August 12th features a Super Card of racing with a new 4pm Post Time followed by a concert with the Park After Dark event featuring the Love Junkies.
Live race presentation continues every night Monday August 14th through to Friday August 18th with 7pm post times. Saturday August 19th has a double header at 1pm and 7pm leading up the Gold Cup & Saucer Final.
The Smash The Track promotion for $10,000 on the Gold Cup final returns for 2023 presented by Warren Ellis & Family of Summerside Chrysler Dodge. The current track record is 1:50.1.
Red Shores is also proud to announce the Guardian, as part of the Saltwire Network, is the title sponsor of the James “Roach” MacGregor Gold Cup Consolation on Friday August 18th.
Red Shores Racing Access to the Grounds
Please be advised that admission gates are back in place for Old Home Week 2023. However, accommodations have been made for standardbred horse people coming to Red Shores to compete in our racing programs.
Standardbred horse people may show their valid Standardbred Canada or Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission license to gain access to the main barns, ship in/ paddock areas, and the Race Office. Reminder this is for the licensee only.
SC or APHRC license access is available only via the Barn Area entrance off Exhibition Drive, or through the Ship In / Paddock Barn Security area off Park Street. These licenses will not be valid for access through any other gates on the Old Home Week Grounds.
