Once he gets to the front, None Bettor A (Bettor’s Delight) usually does not get beat and that is what exactly happened Monday (Sep. 26) at Yonkers Raceway.
Competing in the 8th race $39,000 Open Pace, None Bettor A showed that four of his five wins this year were when he is on the front end and drawing the rail made driver Matt Kakaley’s job all the easier.
With American Dealer N (Joe Bongiorno) sitting on their back, None Bettor A cut the mile to the quarter in :27.1. They continued to race single file past the half mile marker in :56.
Then it was The Real One (Pat Lachance) who came first-up and grabbing the second-over cover was the race favorite Leonidas A (Austin Siegelman). They went by the three-quarters in 1:24.3.
Coming down the stretch, Kakaley was able to keep None Bettor A on the engine to keep American Dealer N at bay and then had enough to hold off Leonidas A by a half a length in 1:52.3. American Dealer N was third.
