Nose separates winner in Open Trot

HARRINGTON, DE – Arty Foster Jr.’s Northern Express (Muscle Massive) and harness racing driver Russell Foster were 1:55 winners in the $20,000 Open Trot Wednesday (May 3) at Harrington Raceway.

The 7-year-old gelding notched his 3rd win of the year over Remarkable De Vie and Muscle Dynasty for owner/trainer Foster Jr., with a wire-to-wire score. Remarkable De Vie closed gamely in the stretch and lost by a nose. Northern Express paid $8.20 to win.

NORTHERN EXPRESS REPLAY

Andrew Glassmeyer’s Pinewood Hanover (Explosive Matter) and driver Pat Berry continued to be a scourge of the trotting ranks early in the meet. The 4-year-old gelding improved to 4-for-4 at the meet with a dominant 1:56 in a $15,000 conditioned trot. The Glassmeyer-trainee assumed the lead near the quarter mile and never relented in his 5-length score. He paid $2.8, to win.

PINEWOOD HANOVER REPLAY

Allan Davis had 4 wins on the card, while Russell Foster had a hat trick.
