Garnet Barnsdale’s Northfield Park Pick 5 analysis

Wednesday (March 6) harness racing action features a Pick 5 carryover of more than $5,000 at Northfield Park.

Here is a look at the sequence and a suggested ticket for the $1 base wager:

Race 6: 1,4,8

(1) L B’S LEGACY gets off post 8 which he had for two straight starts. Three starts back, he raced okay at this class level, and he is a threat at a price starting from the rail tonight.

(4) MEETMEINTHEHALLWAY is the likely leader with Merriman in the bike. It’s very hard to leave this one out of the Pick 5

(8) PETER LETS GO tried two wide rallies racing a class above this and that type of move could work at this lower level. He could add some value to this ticket.

Race 7: 1,2,4

(1) DCROCKINMOONDANCER comes in off a sharp try at this level and he is a must-use for me.

(2) LIBERAL drops and gets Merriman and he should be a big speed threat in this spot.

(4) RECORD MACHINE has been solid racing one level below tonight’s and his speed makes him a threat.  

Race 8: 3

(3) COVID CARTEL dropped to this level and produced a strong winning effort. He will be my single on this ticket coming back in the same class.

Race 9: 1,4,8

(1) VICTORY MOVE takes a big class drop and he draws the rail. Enough said.

(4) CHANCEITLIKEITIS raced better last week, and he could be cycling towards a top effort now.

(8) DREAMFAIR MOXY is a classy veteran that ships south from Ontario. He is capable vs. this group if he gets put into the race from the 8-hole.

Race 10: 2,3

This is clearly a two-horse race on paper and if you make it this far live with (2) STARLIT SWAN SONG and (3) MASTER OF AFFAIRS, you can probably wait at the cashier.

My ticket: 148/124/3/148/23 = $54
