Tonight’s (March 10) harness racing action features a Pick 5 carryover of more than $2,200 at Northfield Park.
Any carryover is a good carryover. Here is a look at the sequence and hopefully a winning ticket.
Race 6: 3,7,8
(3) TRE CRUZ just finished 3rd to this race’s morning line favorite, but now he gets post position advantage on that rival. I could see him tripping out for the win here.
(7) HONALI was flying late at this level last week and Wrenn Jr. continues to win at a very high rate at this track so far in 2024. He is hard to leave out in this field.
(8) DANCIN DRAGON would be a single if he drew inside but post 8 can be the great equalizer on this track.
Race 7: 2,4
(2) CARLOS MITTANA got an impossible trip from post 8 in his first start off the claim. He draws inside and gets Wrenn Jr. now and a major turnaround is likely.
(4) POUND SIGN takes a big drop here and Lems will likely put him into the race leaving the gate. He is a threat to lead all the way.
Race 8: 5
(5) FANCY EXPRESSIONS gets needed post relief and a driver change to Merriman. She was a winner last time she drew post 5 at this level and she will be my single in this sequence.
Race 9: 1,4
(1) DANCETHEWAYUARE and (4) BIT OF LUCK both have been facing tougher and it’s very likely that one of them takes the win here.
Race 10: 2,3,6
(2) SIDE CHICK got a tough trip racing first up as the pace accelerated last week. She gets out of the second tier now and she could get a great trip racing close to the front tonight. She could break through for her second win here.
(3) BOBBIN N POPPIE gets class and post relief tonight and she shows a win at this level three starts back. She figures to be a threat.
(6) SP DANCINWITHSTARZ is the other one in here that shows a recent win at this level, and she gets off post 8 tonight so improvement is very likely. She’s a threat to lead all the way.
