Nows The Moment (Credit Winner) and harness racing driver Austin Siegelman left hard from post seven, cleared to the front and the duo never looked back in capturing the $36,000 Open Handicap Trot Thursday (March 16) at Yonkers Raceway.
With Credit Con (Joe Bongiorno) sitting on their backs, Nows The Moment cut the mile to the first quarter in :27.2. Going to the half mile marker, Stormy Kromer (Daniel Dube) started up first-over from fourth place with the race favorite, Hey Livvy (Jordan Stratton) second over as Nows The Moment led at the half in :57.
Heading into the backstretch, Hey Livvy moved three-wide to loop around Stormy Kromer at the three-quarters in 1:25, but by that time Nows The Moment had a full head of steam and was leading by two lengths by the top of the stretch.
Coming down the stretch, Nows The Moment was not to be caught, winning by one and one-half lengths in 1:54. Grey (Yannick Gingras) beat out Credit Con for second place.
