Nows The Moment off the schneid

After two second place finishes in the $36,000 Open Handicap Trot at Yonkers Raceway, Nows The Moment (Credit Winner) finally notched his first win of the harness racing season on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

With Austin Siegelman in the sulky, Nows The Moment was able to leave from post five in the 2^nd race feature and go right to the lead with Credit Con (Joe Bongiorno) grabbing the two-hole trip to the first quarter in :27.3.

Siegelman was able to get a breather with Nows The Moment to the half mile marker in :56.4, but then had to turn the burners on in the backstretch as Hey Livvy (Jordan Stratton) came first-over from third place to challenge. Nows The Moment tripped the three-quarters teletimer in 1:24.3, a :27.4 quarter.

With a two length lead at the top of the stretch, Nows The Moment held the field at bay, winning by two and one-quarter lengths in 1:53. The pocket-sitting Credit Con was second with Hey Livvy third.

Sent off as the even money wagering favorite, Nows The Moment paid $4.10 to win. The eight-year-old gelding is trained by Mr. Allison Mac Donald for owner Sonya Mac Donald.
