Nuttin But Finesse (Art Major) and driver Luke Hanners were able to nose out race favorite Moonshine Kisses and post a mild harness racing upset in winning the $16,000 Open Handicap Pace Saturday (Nov. 26) at Saratoga Raceway.
The 6th race feature got underway on the half mile oval with Nuttin But Finesse defending his rail post position, parking out Opitical Illusion N (Chris Long) and a three-wide Moonshine Kisses (Jay Randall) to the first quarter in :27.3.
Optical Illusion N cleared to the lead, then Moonshine Kisses immediately took command of the race to the half mile in :56.
In the backstretch, Moonside Kisses was still on top, but moving first-over from third was Nuttin But Finesse. They went by the three-quarters in 1:24.
By the top of the stretch, Nuttin But Finesse got by Optical Illusion N and started after Moonshine Kisses. Those two would race neck and neck to the wire with the photo finish camera declaring Nuttin But Finesse the winner by a nose over Moonshine Kisses in 1:52.2. Optical Illusion N was third.

It was the ninth win on the year for Nuttin But Finesse, a four-year-old stallion, trained and co-owned by Janice Connor with John Stronka, Scott McGee and Robert Lovett. He paid $9.70 to win.
