OAK GROVE, Ky. — Inclement weather cast over southwest Kentucky on Sunday afternoon (May 7) and prompted the cancellation of the harness racing card from Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel out of an abundance of caution and for the welfare of participants.

Strong thunderstorms and continual lightning beat down on the Oak Grove oval and within a wide radius surrounding, spurring a near two-hour weather delay that ultimately led to the decision to cancel the card.
The draw schedule for this week ONLY at Oak Grove. Box will close for both Sunday and Monday at 1:00 Central time on Wednesday.
However, the races scheduled for Sunday will still be contested on a new date. The 12-race card, which featured the third preliminary of Kentucky Sires Stakes action for 4-year-olds, will now be contested at Oak Grove this Tuesday (May 9) with first-race post time at 3 p.m. CDT (4 p.m. EDT).
Racing resumes at Oak Grove on Monday (May 8) with one of the most challenging and competitive cards of the racing season thus far. The $1,460.80 carryover in the Late Pick 5 will be carried over to Monday’s sequence, which starts in Race 6.
Daily post time is 3 p.m. CDT (4 p.m. EDT).
